The Cross

The highest road and the most spectacular views - nothing to get ‘cross’ about on a fine day and in a reliable vehicle!

During the summer months a walk to the summit is available from this viewing spot.  After you’ve had your jam sandwich, lock the car and head 100m down the road towards the Hotham village, follow the Summit Access Track on the right (past the locked gate) and take the track 700 metres to the summit of Mt Hotham. GIVE WAY TO VEHICLES.  Enjoy the views from the summit, and marvel at the ribbon through the ranges, that is the Great Alpine Road.

Stay on the track and please don’t walk across the sensitive alpine grasses and herbs – or our native fauna will get ‘cross’!
