Seasonal Road Closures
All trips outlined in this booklet have sections that are subject to seasonal road closures. These closures occur each year typically between June and November.NOTE – ALWAYS check with local authorities before heading off on your adventure to be safe.
Your adventure will have you travelling on a variety of road surfaces that may vary between:
SEALED ROADS
Sealed roads with line marking, some overtaking lanes and opportunities.
UNSEALED ROADS
Unsealed roads are typically well maintained with reasonable overtaking/passing opportunities. They may contain sections of corrugations and/or potholes.
FORMED DIRT ROADS
Formed dirt roads typically have minimal overtaking/passing opportunities. They usually have sections of corrugations, uneven ground, waterways of varying depths, wash outs and potholes.
NARROW TRACKS
Narrow tracks will have no facility for overtaking/passing (so take care when moving to the side of the track). They contain ruts, water drainage mounds, uneven terrain, steep drop-offs, water crossings of varying depths, blind crests, sharp turns, switchbacks, steep ascents and steep descents.
